All Inside Double Bundle ACL
What is an All inside Double Bundle ACL?
All inside Double Bundle ACL is a procedure that was designed to repair an acute anterior cruciate ligament tear. Injuries to the knee frequently involve the stabilizing ligaments on the inside known as the cruciate ligaments. The mechanism of injury may vary per sport or activity, may or may not involve impact and usually causes moderate pain and swelling. Partial tears may not require surgery in contrast to complete tears usually do in age groups up to 50 years. Arthoscopic surgery is used to repair the ligament and in general is minimally invasive. Suitable replacement tissue may be obtained from the patient or a donor (cadaver). A one or two bundle technique may be utilized based on the age and activity of the patient. The All inside Double Bundle ACL technique is representative of the procedure irrespective of the choice of tissue, single or double bundle.
