What is the treatment for shoulder instability?
Treatment of shoulder instability depends on several factors, and almost always begins with physical therapy and rehab. If you feel that your shoulder is loose or about to dislocate, physical therapy with specific strengthening exercises will often help maintain your shoulder in it's proper position. Shoulder strengthening is helps young athletes with multi-directional shoulder instability, however if you are over 40 years old or if you cannot maintain shoulder stability you may require surgical treatment; click here to see an animation of the treatment.
