Swivel lock double row
What is a Swivel lock double row?
Swivel lock double row is a procedure to repair rotator cuff tears. The rotator cuff muscles arise from the shoulder blade to connect to the ball of the shoulder. They are important to movements of the shoulder, but are not the only muscles that are critical to movements of the shoulder. Because of the variety of movement of the shoulder as compared to the hip, these muscles are at risk to wear and tear. With either mechanism damage to the tendons can occur, causing pain in the shoulder. Bursitis, tendonitis, sprains and strains are common problems, that if ignored can weaken and cause the tendon to tear. Traumatic ruptures of the cuff occur frequently from falls or overuse injuries in athletics or work. Arthroscopic (microscopic) surgery is used to restore the tendon to its origin utilizing a swivel lock double row technique.
